Celiac Disease

Celiac disease is an immune reaction to eating gluten. If you have celiac disease, gluten triggers an immune response in your small intestine that, over time, can cause damaging inflammation to the intestinal lining. Read more.

Cirrhosis

Cirrhosis is a disease in which the liver becomes severely scarred, usually as a result of continuous injury. Common causes of cirrhosis include alcohol abuse and Hepatitis C. Read more.

Colon Cancer

Colon cancer occurs when cells in the colon become altered or damaged. Most often it begins as a polyp in the colon. Removing polyps before they become cancerous can prevent colon cancer. This is why regular screening is so important. Read more.

Constipation

Chronic constipation refers to infrequent bowel movements or inability to pass stools that persists for several weeks or more. Constipation is generally described as fewer than three bowel movements a week. Read more.

Crohn's Disease

Crohn’s disease is an Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and is a chronic condition that affects the gastrointestinal tract. Although often associated together, Crohn’s is not the same as ulcerative colitis. Read more.

Diarrhea

Diarrhea describes bowel movements that are loose and watery. It is common and often not serious. Many people will have diarrhea once or twice each year. Sometimes diarrhea can indicate IBS or other chronic digestive conditions. Read more.

Diverticular Disease

Diverticula are small pouches that form in the digestive system lining. Common, especially after age 40, they usually do not cause problems. Diverticulitis occurs when diverticula become inflamed or infected. Read more.

Gastritis

Gastritis describes a group of conditions involving inflammation of the stomach lining. Gastritis may occur suddenly (acute), or it can occur slowly over time (chronic). Read more.

General GI
