Welcome to Northeast Digestive Health Center & Cabarrus Gastroenterology Associates! Thank you for choosing us as your digestive health provider. To ensure we are able to provide you with the best possible care at your upcoming visit, we encourage you to take a few simple steps prior to your first appointment with us. For questions or more information, contact us at (704) 783-1840.
Northeast Digestive Health Center offers an interactive, secure online portal for patients. New patients are encouraged to join our online Patient Portal, even before their first visit. Convenient and easy to use, the Patient Portal lets you view procedure and test results, update records and even complete all paperwork prior to your appointment! To request access to our Patient Portal, click here.
You will be seen by one of Northeast Digestive Health Center’s board-certified gastroenterologists or a qualified Physician Assistant under the direction of a physician. As a courtesy, we will call you 24 hours prior to your appointment to remind you.
Office visit consultations typically involve a discussion of health concerns and review of your medical records/personal history, a physical examination and scheduling of any needed procedures or tests. Except in urgent cases, endoscopic/invasive procedures will not be done the day of your office visit, so you may eat beforehand.
ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT:
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled office appointment. Patients who are late to their scheduled appointment may be required to reschedule to the next available opening.
Please bring with you:
- A complete list your medications
- Your photo ID
- Your insurance card
- Your co-pay/deductible/co-insurance amount
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Should you need to cancel your office visit, we require 24 hours’ notice. Patients who repeatedly miss a scheduled office visit without notice may be discharged from the practice.
Northeast Digestive Health Center requires a 3 business days’ notice to cancel or reschedule patient procedures.
Patients who no-show for an endoscopic procedure appointment must pay a deposit of $50 prior to rescheduling the appointment. If the patient does not keep the rescheduled appointment, the deposit will be forfeited. A second no-show occurrence will prompt a $50 non-refundable charge to the patient. A third occurrence will prompt a $75 non-refundable charge and/or being dismissed from the practice, at the physician’s discretion.
Insurance & Billing
We participate with most major insurance. Please contact us if you have a question about a specific insurance company. All copays and coinsurance will be collected prior to each office appointment. Check, cash or credit card payments are accepted. Any remaining balance may be set up on a payment plan if needed. Insurance benefit estimates are not guaranteed. Changes may occur during your procedure, which may affect your out-of-pocket expense. Please verify your benefits and network participation with your insurance provider.
As a courtesy, Northeast Digestive Health Center will contact your insurance company one week prior to your scheduled procedure to verify your benefits for in-office procedures. You will be notified of your ESTIMATED insurance benefits and total patient amount due prior to your procedure date.
Understanding Procedure Charges:
If a BIOPSY is taken during any procedure, it may be sent to a 3rd party provider for testing. If so, there will be a separate charge from Endochoice and either Atrium Health Cabarrus, Cabarrus Pathology or Northeast Digestive Health Center, which will be billed separately for procedures.
If you are having ANESTHESIA during your procedure, you will receive a separate bill if your procedure is at Gateway Surgery Center. If your procedure is done at Northeast Digestive Health Center, you will receive a bill from us for Anesthesia.
